The metropolis of Chicago stated Friday that it would wipe out some, if not all, debt due to unpaid car sticker tickets for motorists who come into compliance via the cease of October, a program that can benefit an anticipated 500,000 motorists and lead to loads of thousands and thousands of bucks in debt forgiveness.
The statement comes because the office of City Clerk Anna Valencia prepares to provide its very own amnesty program next month, permitting citizens to buy prorated vehicle stickers without incurring past due penalties.
The two-pronged approach from two workplaces of City Hall amounts to what officials term a “sparkling beginning” for suffering Chicagoans, as the metropolis purges vintage debts and makes stickers less costly.
